Sea Vampires, Stonado, Lipnicki…Syfy!

Syfy has released information on a few of their upcoming movies.  They are taking us to battle Sea Vampires and bringing along Jonathan Lipnicki (the brain kid from Jerry Maguire) in Beast of the Bering Sea.  Next, they are bringing us Stonado.  My hope was that it was about a tornado that hit a burning pot field and traveled the country sounding like Keanu Reeves and eating Cheetos.  However, it is just a stone throwing tornado.  Boooring.

NEW YORK – October 17, 2013 – Sharknado star Cassie Scerbo will return to Syfy to battle sea vampires in the new Original Movie Beast of the Bering Sea, premiering Saturday, November 9 at 9PM (ET/PT).

In Beast of the Bering Sea, Scerbo and Jonathan Lipnicki (Jerry Maguire) play a sister and brother team prospecting for gold, who accidentally disturb a colony of blood-sucking amphibious predators (sea vampires) in an underwater cave. Kevin Dobson (Knots Landing) co-stars in this production from The Asylum (Sharknado 2).

In the Original Movie Stonados, premiering Saturday, November 23 at 9PM (ET/PT), Paul Johanssen (One Tree Hill, Highlander: The Raven), William B. Davis (The X Files, Continuum) and Thea Gill (Queer as Folk) star in a disaster movie about a freak weather system which hurls deadly boulders.

Syfy is a media destination for imagination-based entertainment. With year round acclaimed original series, events, blockbuster movies, classic science fiction and fantasy programming, a dynamic Web site ( (, and a portfolio of adjacent business (Syfy Ventures), Syfy is a passport to limitless possibilities. Originally launched in 1992 as SCI FI Channel, and currently in more than 98 million homes, Syfy is a network of NBCUniversal, one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies.  NBCUniversal is owned by Comcast Corporation. (Syfy. Imagine greater.)

I am absolutely amazed that people watch this stuff. Just the press release having Stonado and Lipnicki at the same time was too much for me to pass up.
